Activities of the Group

• Walking with our group

  • Sunday- these walks are normally between·8 and 12 miles, meeting at the starting point of the walk, usually in Derbyshire or Staffordshire.

  • Wednesday- walks are normally between 6 and 7 miles, meeting at the starting point of the walk, usually in Derbyshire or Staffordshire.

  • Friday- these walks are normally between 4 and 5 miles, meeting at the starting point of the walk, usually within a 4 mile radius of Belper.

  • Footpath Surveys and Clearance- we survey and waymark footpaths in our local area and report on obstructions.

  • Away week-ends. There are two walking weekends away each year, arriving Friday evening departing Monday morning, staying in hotel accommodation, with walks to suit all and led by our own leaders. Recent destinations have included the Lake District, Yorkshire Moors, Wales, and Shropshire.

  • Slide Shows and Talks. Held in the Strutt Centre, Belper during the Winter period, usually monthly on Friday evenings.

  • Summer Buffet and short walk. Usually held during mid-June with a 1 - 2 mile walk preceding a buffet meal.
